blog fail... recap

Natalie here...

I was notified today that we stopped blogging on Wednesday. Sorry about that. We are back in Virginia Beach but I will fill you in on the thrills of the end of the week.

Thursday...
Everyone came to work with me, which was suprisingly fun. The highlight was riding around campus in the golf cart and getting Rec Sports travel coffee mugs. After work we went home and got some lunch then went to Henderson Lawn for Rita's. We watched HSM3 to complete my seeing of the trilogy! Yes, I just called it a trilogy. As you all know, or at least should know, Thursday night is karaoke night at Buffalo Wild Wings. A night you don't want to miss. Caroline got the ball rolling singing "Lady" by The Styx. The crowd LOVED her... as usual. Erin kept it real and sang Will Smith's "Miami"... so legit. At Caroline's request, I sang "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid - complete with the Jamacian accent. And Julia wrapped up the night singing two Jason Marz songs. J has a great voice. =)

Friday...
Final day in Blacksburg. No work for me so we had the whole day at our disposal. This actually made me a little nervous because it's such an epic day and we were struggling to decide what to do. Naturally, we slept in until 10am. Then Abby suggested getting the day started with pictionary and breakfast at Bollo's, a clutch decision. Julia and I kicked butt. I think Caroline always thinks that being on Abby (the Artist)'s team will help her win, but Julia and I are on the same wavelength so we rock. nuff said. While at Bollo's we continued to discuss our options for the day and made a last minute decision to go pack lunch and head up to Mountain Lake to hike and swim (since the lake is refilling!). We ended up having soooooo much fun. We hiked to the Bear Cliffs lookout and then along the ridge to Bald Knob. The hikes out at Mtn Lake are just beautiful. We played in the ferns and on the rocks. A deer ran right in front of us on the trail. It was really precious time. I had to convince Julia and Caroline to go to the second lookout (Bald Knob), I explained that it would be 17x better than Bear Cliffs. Caroline didn't want to go so I ended up carrying her for maybe a half mile. Then she chased butterflies along the trail. We also sang HSM songs to keep her entertained. Once we got to Bald Knob, they agreed that it was at least 17x better, maybe even 17.5. We played on the rocks and climbed down into the little caves, which I had never done before. We hiked down and had a picnic lunch then jumped in the lake. Afterwards we showed in the locker room (we each get our own shower, which Caroline loves) and then went to see "UP" at The Lyric. It was a really sad movie. None of us cried but the whole thing, the whole idea really, was just sad. After the movie we walked out and had a final sit on Henderson Lawn. There were tons of fireflies so we decided to see who could catch the most, holding them in one hand. I think Julia managed to catch 5, Caroline and I could only keep 3 - they kept escaping! We giggled a lot. Friday was a loaded day but we didnt stop there. I have to be out of my apartment by next Friday, so Abby helped me move most of my furniture to Tom and Nichole's, where I will be living next year. We packed and moved until just before midnight, where we made it to Food Lion right before close where we randomly got a Carvel Ice Cream Cake. Once we got home we decided that we were wide awake and should just drive home tonight. So we packed the car, had some ice cream cake (which we cheers to all of our Birthdays and weeks in Blacksburg) and hit the road around 1:30am. Caroline cried. She said we should just call mom and say we are staying another week.

Saturday...
We made it back to VA Beach around 6:45am. I went for a run with Abby and then passed out for a few hours. It was a great week in Blacksburg. I can't wait till next year! =] haha
